WELCOME
To Haro Park Centre Foundation
The Haro Park Centre is a registered not-for-profit charity with the Canada Revenue Agency. Our sole mandate is to raise funds to support Haro Park Centre.
Haro Park receives funding from the provincial government to cover most of our operating expenses. However, we do not receive funding for any of the additional programs and services we provide to our elders, such as physiotherapy, massage and occupational therapy, dental care, podiatry, music, art and horticulture therapy, nor do we receive funding for building upgrades/improvements or for certain medical equipment.
We have a substantial number of elders at HPC that do not have family, family support, or financial support. We raise money to help provide these elders with personal items such as toiletries, new clothing, walkers, wheelchairs, canes and anything else an individual might need to ensure quality of life.
The Foundation raises money through various avenues. Annually we have our signature Wine & Cheese fundraising event which is traditionally held the first Saturday in March. We have wonderful wines and beers to pair with tasty food. As well as a live and silent auction, live music and an evening of mingling.
The Foundation also mails out a quarterly newsletter informing our donors and family members of news and activities that have transpired at HPC, issues that may be of concern or interest and our current facility needs.
Mostly, our Foundation receives money from individual donors, often family and friends of our elders, but also individuals familiar with the valuable service and care we provide to elders.
